Eyelid Surgery Ecuador: $800 to $3,500
Blepharoplasty prices in Ecuador 2026: upper from $800, bilateral $1,800-$3,500. Week-by-week recovery and non-surgical alternatives such as HIFU.

If you are considering a blepharoplasty, two questions come before all the others: what it costs and how long recovery takes. Both answers depend on your case, but knowing the usual ranges in Ecuador and what recovery really looks like helps you decide with information and without surprises. This guide covers indicative prices, what pushes them up or down, week-by-week recovery and the non-surgical alternatives available if you are not ready for an operating room.
What blepharoplasty is#
Blepharoplasty is surgery that rejuvenates the eye area by removing or redistributing excess skin, muscle or fat in the eyelids. There are two main types:
- Upper blepharoplasty: corrects drooping lids and that "heavy" or tired look. In some cases it also improves the visual field when excess skin covers part of the eye.
- Lower blepharoplasty: treats under-eye bags and sagging, reshaping the lower contour.
They can be performed separately or in the same session (bilateral), depending on what your face needs.
Blepharoplasty prices in Ecuador#
Most clinics in Ecuador do not publish a fixed rate: the figure is set after an in-person assessment, because every eyelid and every goal is different. Even so, based on public references from clinics and surgeons in the region, these are the indicative ranges usually quoted:
| Procedure | Indicative range (USD) |
|---|---|
| Upper blepharoplasty | $800 – $1,800 |
| Lower blepharoplasty | $1,000 – $2,000 |
| Bilateral (upper + lower) | $1,800 – $3,500 |
| Complex cases or premium clinics | up to $8,000 |
These figures are indicative. Quito clinics such as Sanura and practices like that of Dr. Diego Guerra agree that the price is only determined after consultation. As a regional reference, price guides in Colombia place single-eyelid surgery between COP 4,000,000 and 6,500,000 (roughly USD 1,000–1,600) according to ophthalmologist Catalina Chica, while ranges in Peru start from S/. 1,300 according to Cirugía Estética Méndez. At Jenny Vera Spa we do not perform surgery, so these values are informational only.
What affects the price#
Two quotes can differ a great deal for legitimate reasons. The factors that weigh most are:
- Type of blepharoplasty: upper is usually less expensive than lower or bilateral.
- Complexity of the case: significant excess skin, large bags or a functional component (reduced visual field) call for a more advanced technique.
- The surgeon's experience and reputation: a specialist with a proven track record charges for that expertise, and it reduces risk.
- Anaesthesia and theatre: local anaesthesia with sedation or general, plus use of an accredited clinic, is part of the total.
- Tests and follow-ups: pre-surgical tests and check-up appointments may or may not be included in the package.
When comparing quotes, check what each one covers: the cheapest is not always the one that includes everything.
Week-by-week recovery#
Recovering from a blepharoplasty is more manageable than many people imagine, but it takes patience and care. This is the usual progression.
Days 1 to 3#
Rest, cold compresses at intervals and sleeping with your head elevated. Swelling and bruising around the eyes are normal. You take the prescribed medication for pain and inflammation.
Weeks 1 to 2#
Swelling drops noticeably and many people resume light activities and even work between days 7 and 10. Stitches are usually removed and the scars begin to blend in. Careful makeup is generally allowed after the second week.
Weeks 3 to 6#
You return to normal activity and exercise progressively. The eyes already look rested, though the result keeps refining.
Months 3 to 6#
The scars, placed in the natural folds of the eyelid, fade almost completely and the final result becomes clear.
Post-surgical care that speeds up recovery#
This is where we can support you. Although we do not operate, we offer treatments that make recovery more comfortable and quicker. Post-operative lymphatic drainage in Cuenca helps reabsorb fluid, reduces swelling and improves comfort in the days after surgery, always from the point your surgeon authorises. Combine it with keeping the incisions clean, not rubbing your eyes, sleeping with your head elevated and attending every check-up.
Our plastic surgery recovery guide for Cuenca explains what these sessions involve in more detail.
Non-surgical alternatives#
Not every tired-looking gaze needs an operating room. If your case is mild to moderate, or you would rather start without surgery, there are non-invasive options we work with at the spa:
- HIFU for eyelids and a tired gaze: focused ultrasound stimulates your own collagen to firm and lift the area progressively, with no needles and no downtime. See our HIFU treatment in Cuenca, and our overview of HIFU as a lift without surgery.
- Under-eye treatment: ideal when what ages the gaze is dark, hollow or marked under-eye circles rather than excess skin. See our under-eye treatment page.
These alternatives do not replace surgery when there is significant excess skin or large bags, but they are an excellent starting point for rejuvenating the eye area naturally.
Conclusion#
Blepharoplasty prices in Ecuador run, indicatively, from around $800 for a single upper eyelid to several thousand dollars in complex cases, depending on the type of surgery, the complexity and the surgeon. Recovery is progressive: most people return to their routine within one or two weeks, and the final result matures over a few months.
Remember that these prices are indicative, that every case is different, and that Jenny Vera Spa does not perform surgery: we support you through post-surgical recovery and with non-surgical alternatives for the eye area.
